About Us

History

In 2007, Karen Mercer established Guided Visions Counseling Center as a community organization providing psychotherapy services in Baltimore County and surrounding areas.  In 2016, Ms. Mercer and Dr. Karyn Felder Moore recognized a need to assist recent Pastoral Counselor and graduate level interns interested in building a private practice while earning clinical hours and supervision required for full licensure.  This recognition led to a partnership between Karen and Karyn and the birth of A Renewed Mind Behavioral Health Center.

Beginning September 2016, Ms. Anatasia Kotsakis and Ms. Shauntae McNair will begin  their internships with A Renewed Mind. Anatasia is a graduate of Capital Bible Seminary's Christian Counseling and Discipleship program.  She is currently a post-graduate student at Loyola in their Certificate of Advanced Studies Program in Pastoral Counseling.  Anna brings experience in substance abuse and vocational counseling.  As a fluent bilingual, she   also looks forward to working with the Spanish speaking community.

Shauntae is currently enrolled in the Pastoral Counseling program at Loyola University expecting to graduate in May 2017. Shauntae has worked with both youth and adult clients from varying ethnic, gender, socio-economic, and cultural backgrounds. She is a certified facilitator for Prepare-Enrich,  a widely used program for premarital and marriage counseling. Shauntae has also been an educator in Baltimore City Public Schools for the past 16 years.  She is an ordained minister in the African Methodist Episcopal Church and the co-founder of J.E.W.E.L.S –a mentoring program for girls
